Lynda.com
ITAC purchases licenses each year for Lynda.com, a provider of online training opportunities. Due to our limited number of licenses, interested persons are granted two-week access. For a preview, go to www.lynda.com. For registration and two-week access, contact ITAC.
Microsoft eLearning
ITAC has purchased Microsoft Web-based eLearning for every Microsoft Office product from entry to advanced levels. All Microsoft courses are available without charge to faculty and staff. Click here for further details.
ITAC teaches in-person, instructor-led courses. Courses are open to anyone at Texas State; however, students will be waitlisted if faculty or staff members register a full course. Course registration is available through the SAP Portal’s Training and Development section. A description of available courses is located here. Courses are tailored to fit the needs of university faculty and staff.
Getting Started Courses
These one to four session courses include SAP and many Microsoft Office 2010 products. Each course aims to teach basic application skills and prepare participants for more advanced training.
Short and Sweet Courses
These one-session courses cover advanced topics in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Windows 7.
All instructor-led courses use modified courseware purchased from Velsoft, Ltd. This bulk purchase includes soft-skills training such as leadership, team building, and communications. These materials can be provided without charge to groups wanting to customize soft-skills training. All materials used in ITAC instructor-led training reside on the IT Assistance Center group in TRACS, which is accessible to all faculty, staff, and students.
ITAC continually strives to provide a blend of appropriate learning resources to create a training environment equipped for delivering successful learning experiences and outcomes. Contact ITAC to get more information on our workshops or to learn about individual or group training for you or your area.
