Technology Resource works hard to make a wide variety of software available to Texas State University System Institutions. Some software products are available for departmental use at no cost; other products are available at discounted prices.

Windows General Productivity Software

General Productivity Software includes the packages that enable faculty and staff to do general word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, e-mail and scheduling tasks that support everyday work activities. This software may be centrally licensed, purchased and installed on faculty and staff desktop units at no cost to the department. In addition, some software is available for personal use as specified below

SC - Software contact, MSCA - Microsoft Software Campus Agreement

* per license basis- University will purchase individual licenses. We must account for every license and no one may install the software on more computers than the number of licenses they hold.

** MicroGrade is supported through Instructional Technologies Support.

Windows Special Purpose Software

The following software is available to faculty/staff who need to accomplish work beyond the scope of general productivity software.

The cost for Special Purpose Software installed on client desktops is the responsibility of the department.  In some cases, the University facilitates central licensing and purchase, with IDT to departments.  Publisher, Visual Studio, and SPSS are on Tier II due to limited support; there is no charge to the department for this software.
