Patches

Patches are released by McAfee periodically to address minor issues in certain computing environments. Patch files should be applied only on the advice of McAfee Technical Support, and only when you are actually experiencing the issue being addressed by the Patch. Unless a Patch file is classified as mandatory a patch should not be proactively applied in order to prevent potential product issues. You can tell if a patch has been applied by right clicking on the VirusScan icon in the system tray (V shield) and selecting the About VirusScan Enterprise... menu option.

Patch files are cumulative (i.e. patch 2 will contain the patch 1 fixes):

Please contact the IT Assistance Center if you have an issue with VirusScan Enterprise 8.7i and want to inquire about the availability of a recently released patch from McAfee.
