QVT/Term is a Windows terminal/SSH application that is used by a Texas State user to log in and use either the Texas State administrative or academic mainframe computer.

Download and Installation

• Download QVT-Term.msi (5.45MB) and double click on it.
• The program will be installed.  By default, QVT/Term configuration data is shared among all users.
• Restart your computer.

Running QVT/Term

• Run QVT/Term by choosing Start, All Programs, QvtTerm and select one of mainframe shortcuts on the pop-up menu -  QVT-Tegan-TxState or QVT-Nyssa-TxState.
• The first time you connect to a particular mainframe computer, you will be prompted to verify the computer being accessed.  Click Yes.

Shortcuts

To create a custom icon on your desktop, do one of the following:

1. Drag the desired shortcut (QVT-Tegan-TxState or QVT-Nyssa-TxState) from the pop-up menu on the Start menu to your desktop.  Note: It will be removed from the menu and be stored on the desktop instead.

or

2. Right click on the desktop and pick New, Shortcut, and type in one of the following lines for the command line to access the specific computer your want to make a shortcut to:

c:\program files\qpc\qvtnet\bin\term.exe -c nyssa-txstate
c:\program files\qpc\qvtnet\bin\term.exe -c tegan-txstate
