Support and Documentation

Download and Installation

  • Download QVTTERM.EXE (6.7MB) and run it.
  • Expand the files in a temporary empty directory (default: c:/temp/qvtterm)
  • Open the qvtterm folder you will now find inside that temporary directory (default: c:/temp/qvtterm)
  • Double click the SETUP.EXE program.
  • At the Welcome screen, click Next
  • Use the default directory and click Next.
  • Select Yes to create the directory if asked.
  • Use the default directory for the DATA FILES and click Next.
  • Use the default program folder and click Next.
  • BE SURE AND CHECK the radio button labeled: I would like data to be shared among ALL users and click Next The installation will begin.
  • When it is finished, click No to restart and click Finish.

Copy Connection Files

  • Copy the files hosts, rsvt220.km and term.cfg from the TERMINAL folder found inside the qvtterm folder in the temporary directory that you used to do the installation to your TERMINAL folder in the following location c:/Program Files/QPC/QVTNet/Terminal 

Initial Setup

  • Run QVT/term by choosing Start, Programs, QvtTerm and QVT-Term.
  • If prompted, make QVT/Term your default terminal program.
  • Once in QVT/Term, choose the Setup menu, Standard Settings..., and click the Display tab and change the scroll back lines to 1500.
  • Click the Files tab and change the Keyboard Mapping File blank to rsvt220.km.
  • Click on OK when finished.
  • Next click the Setup menu, Screen Colors..., choose blue for the Background and check the Save as Default box, then click OK.
  • Quit QVT/Term.
  • Restart your computer. You should now be ready to go. 

Shortcuts

To create a custom icon on your desktop, do one of the following:

From the SHORTCUTS folder found inside the qvtterm folder in the temporary directory, drag those shortcuts ending in "-txstate" to your desktop.

or

Right click on the desktop and pick New, Shortcut, and type in one of the following lines for the command line to access the specific computer your want to make a shortcut to:

c:\program files\qpc\qvtnet\bin\term.exe -c nyssa-txstate
c:\program files\qpc\qvtnet\bin\term.exe -c tegan-txstate
