Prerequisites

 

To install an Adobe application for Mac

Select an option below:

Option 1 - Install across network using Absolute Manage

Absolute Manage is endpoint management software that allows you to install licensed Texas State applicatons over the network directly to your Mac.

  1. Follow the instructions on the Absolute Manage download page to download and install Absolute Manage.
     
  2. From the Apple menu, select System Preferences... and then select Absolute Manage.

  3. Select the Software Updates tab and click the Show On-Demand Software button.

  4. Check the software selections desired such Adobe CS 5 Master Collection in the example below and click OK.

    Select desire software from list window.

     
  5. The software will be downloaded and the installer run.  Note that the software may be installed silently and that a large collection of applications such as Adobe CS 6 Master Collection may take over 30 minutes to install.  When the installation is complete, you will be notified by a pop-up window.
     
  6. Note: If you use Adobe Encore or Adobe Premiere, you will need to download the Encore and Premiere Content files available under "Option 2 - Download" on this page.
     

Option 2 - Download

Software Code of Ethics for
Texas State University-San Marcos
Software will be used only in accordance with its license agreement. Unless otherwise provided in the license, any duplication of copyrighted software, except for backup and archival purposes, is a violation of copyright law. In addition to violating copyright law, unauthorized duplication of software is contrary to Texas State University-San Marcos's standards of conduct. The following points are to be followed to comply with software license agreements:
  1. All software is used in accordance with its license agreements.
  2. Licensed software will be provided to all users who need it per the Supported Desktop Software Initiative. No Texas State user may make any unauthorized copies of any software under any circumstances. Anyone found copying software other than for backup purposes is subject to disciplinary action.
  3. The use of any unauthorized copies of software in our organization will not be tolerated. Any person illegally reproducing software can be subject to civil and criminal penalties including fines and imprisonment. We do not condone illegal copying of software under any circumstances and anyone whom makes, uses, or otherwise acquires unauthorized software may be disciplined.
  4. No user may give software to any outsiders, including students, clients, customers, family or friends.
  5. Any user who determines that there may be a misuse of software within the organization will notify the Software Licensing Coordinator for Technology Resources or department head.
  6. All software used by the organization on organization-owned computers will be purchased through appropriate procedures.
  7. See also UPPS 01.04.24, Policy on Copyrighted Microcomputer Software for details on Texas State's policy.
  8. Texas State has entered into an Agreement with Adobe. This software is made available to you because of that Agreement.  The software install is intended for the sole use of the faculty and staff member at Texas State University-San Marcos.
I have read the software code of ethics for Texas State University-San Marcos.   I am fully aware of the organization's software compliance policies and agree to abide by the policies. I understand that violation of any above policies may result in disciplinary sanctions.

 

Important:  If you have a trial version of Adobe software installed, you must uninstall it before you begin!

CS 6 Master Collection 4.7GB (2-3 hours to install)
Encore and Premiere Content 1.1GB
Photoshop Extended (package install) 1.0GB
 
Note: It will take several hours to install the Adobe CS 6 Master Collection.  You can check to see if new Adobe folders are appearing in the Applications folder to roughly monitor the installation progress.
