Computer encryption helps to protect confidential and sensitive information in the event of a lost or stolen computer. BitLocker for Windows and FileVault 2 for Mac provide minimal impact to the computer user and are highly rated in the encryption industry. Texas State-owned computers should be encrypted to protect confidential and sensitive information.
Looking for a computer lab? ITS Academic Computing Open Computer Labs offer access to state-of-the-art computing for training, online research, and general use. Additionally, departments across campus maintain their own computer labs to provide services specific to their department needs.
IT Supported Academic Classrooms are rooms scheduled through the campus Registrar, often referred to as 1st Call Classrooms. ITS and ITAC maintain and refresh the technology, provide emergency support, and care for the computers with a standardized array of software and regular security and packaged updates.
The mission of Research Computing is to design, build, and manage a group of heterogeneous high performance computing resources for use by Texas State faculty, staff, and students. Information Technology is committed to providing seamless access to advanced high performance computing resources in the pursuit of research and instructional goals.
Students can send documents from personal (home) Windows or Mac computers from on- or off-campus to select SendNPrint Spots on campus! Choose between uploading the document(s) or sending them via your Texas State e-mail account. School of Nursing students can also download the driver to print in Round Rock.
