Our standard Apple and Dell computers include desktop, laptop, and small laptop models that have been carefully selected to satisfy the needs of most users. They will function well within the Texas State network environment and should handle supported Windows and Mac software for a minimum of four years.
Popular, beneficial, or cost effective options are available as upgrades on our standard computers for department funded purchases. Note: Due to specially negotiated pricing and logistic advantages, the standard models will generally offer better value and be received in less time than custom models.
Standard computers that are ordered with the standard software image will have standard Texas State software and configuration settings loaded by ITAC. The standard software image contains software that enables faculty and staff to do general word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, e-mail, anti-virus, and other tasks that support everyday work activities.
Dell DFP computers must be purchased through the TSUS Marketplace (Purchasing Office mandate).

The university has dedicated HEAF funds to provide HEAF elibigle faculty and staff with Dell or Apple computers that are configured to function effectively for a minimum life cycle of four years. Learn more about CRP.
The CRP is a year-round program. Division Managers and Department Contacts are sent detailed instructions from ITAC when the ordering process begins.
Personal purchases cannot be made using the CRP or NRP programs above. All faculty, staff, and students can buy a computer using their Texas State discount.
