Technology Resources has a computer repair facility located in MCS 262 staffed with trained repair technicians. Departments can also take advantage of the refurbish program which acquires older computers that are then erased and re-imaged. Qualified departments can order new computer equipment through the hardware Computer Replacement Program or if they do not qualify can still order computers at a discount using the Non-Replacement Program. Students, faculty and staff can purchase computers for personal use at discounts. Before you decide on a hardware configuration, you can check the recommended equipment standards to verify that the applications you use will work properly. And when a Texas State computer has seen its last day, be sure to follow the hardware disposal procedures to clean the hard drive of a computer being sent off for disposal.
