Requirements
- A Texas State NetID and Password.
- Windows Vista
- A wireless card (802.11 standard compliant)
- All critical updates and patches applied to your operating system.
- Within range of a Texas State access point.
Instructions for Windows Vista:
- Turn on your laptop and login into Windows as usual.
- From the Start menu, select Network.
- Select the Network and Sharing Center tab.

- Click the link at the left of the window to Set up a connection or network.

- From the option list, select Manually connect to a Wireless Network.

- You will now be prompted to enter the information for your wireless network.
The Network name is: TexasStateWPA <-type it in exactly as you see it. No spaces.
The Security type is WPA2-Enterprise. Then click Next. 
- The network will be added. Select the option to Change connection settings.

- Open the Security Tab and click the Settings button.

- Remove the check next to Validate Server Certificate and then click Configure….

- Remove the check next to “Automatically Use Windows logon name…” Click OK.

- Click OK to close the Protected EAP Properties window.
- Click OK to close the TexasStateWPA properties window.
- You will now see an additional information bubble pop-up in the lower right of your screen.
Click on the bubble to Authenticate. 
- Type in your Texas State NetID for the User name (ex: ab1234) and your Texas State password.
The Domain is TXSTATE. Click OK.
