Setting Up the Android to Read Texas State E-mail

The following instructions will walk you through setting up your Android to wirelessly access your Texas State Exchange e-mail, calendar, and contacts. 

Requirements

  • Android
  • Active Cellular Data Connection (Edge or 3G) or Wireless (WiFi) Connection
  • Active Texas State NetID and Password

Exchange Setup Instructions

  1. Using the Android, click Email.

  2. Type in your Texas State e-mail address (i.e. zzz99@txstate.edu) and password.
  3. Click Manual Setup.

  4. For account type, click Exchange.

  5. Fill in the requested information as shown below:
  • Domain\Username:  Enter TXSTATE\yourNetID (e.g., TXSTATE\zzz99)
  • Password:  Enter your NetID password
  • Server: Enter bobcatmail.txstate.edu
  • Check Use secure connection (SSL)
  • Check Accept all SSL certificates
  • Click Next.

  1. In Account options, select Automatic (Push) for e-mail checking frequency and click Next.

  1. Name the e-mail account BobcatMail and click Done.
